Natural Movement Hardware

Revolutionary ceiling-mounted system that maps your real-world movement to virtual exploration

Freedom to Move

Traditional VR forces you to teleport or use joysticks, breaking immersion and causing motion sickness. OpenDeus solves this with a simple, elegant solution: a ceiling-mounted rotary encoder that tracks your natural walking motion through a tensile cable system.

Walk naturally in a 25 square foot space. The system intelligently maps your movement to infinite virtual distance. No treadmills. No sliding. Just walking—the way humans were meant to move.

Why Not Treadmills or Shoes?

Immersion Technology VR offers shoes for locomotion—but they require significant development work to become market-ready. More importantly, their floor-based systems demand permanent floor space, making them unacceptable for apartment dwellers and many homeowners who can't dedicate entire rooms to VR.

OpenDeus mounts to your ceiling. When you're done, it's out of the way. No permanent floor space consumed. No special shoes required. Just natural walking with a system that works from day one.

Rotary encoder assembly

Precision Tracking Technology

At the heart of the system is a precision rotary encoder with a metallic tracking ball. As you move, the ball rotates, sending real-time positional data through the integrated green PCB to your VR headset.

The system measures strain on the rope and reads vibrations continuously. Your character in the game only moves when you're actually moving—eliminating false inputs and ensuring perfect synchronization between your body and your virtual avatar.

Engineered for Simplicity

The transparent view reveals the elegant simplicity of our design. Unlike complex treadmill systems with motors and gears, OpenDeus relies on proven rotary encoder technology, basic physics, and smart software.

Fewer moving parts means higher reliability and dramatically lower cost. The entire assembly fits in a compact housing that mounts flush to your ceiling in minutes.

$150. That's It.

While other VR treadmill systems cost $1,000–$3,000 and require dedicated rooms, OpenDeus delivers superior natural movement for a fraction of the price. Our tensile design eliminates motors, gears, and complex mechanical systems—reducing cost while improving reliability.

The entire system fits in a small box. Installation takes 15 minutes. Works with any VR headset. This is movement hardware designed for everyone, not just wealthy enthusiasts.

Safer Than Walking in the Real World

This is a super-safe system. The rope holds you up—if you stumble, it catches you. If you lean too far in any direction, the rope gently guides you back to center.
